There can be a lot of reasons why we feel tired? We live in a society where PUSHING is given accolades. Sure, we may feel tired if we need some Vitamin D, or Iron, or have adrenal fatigue, or eat too much sugar. But what if we are actually TIRED? What if we rested when we tired? What would that be like for you? One of the reasons we offer longer sessions here is to let people rest. It takes 28 minutes for the energy to circulate through body. What can we do to help re-set ourselves? Basically we need to find ways to quiet our fight or flight systems, so we aren't in chronic stress. Any time that we don't feel safe, it ignites our fight or flight system, our limbic system. The newer more evolved part of our brain is the PFC, or pre frontal cortex, or Neo Cortex. What if your body is trying to tell you something? If you listened to your body, what would it tell you? Would you need more fun in your life? Creativity? What could you do for yourself ? Do you need a little cat nap every day? Eat less sugar? I invite you listen to one thing your body has to tell you. Compassion, Empathy, Problem solving are all emotions of our more evolved brain. Also, if you feel tired, please find a way to rest, maybe it's a walk in the sunshine. In peace, Stefanie Rothert #acupunctureforwellbeing #peace #restfullife Over the years of practice, (and in myself), I have noticed that people with anxiety, depression, and insomnia, have "flare-ups". A lot of these correspond with trauma or issues that can get triggered. But hey, guess what stress does? It causes inflammation. In Chinese Medicine, inflammation could be translated as heat. So for someone with insomnia, they finally have their sleep under control.. and BAM something happens, maybe it's diet or a break up, or a memory, and their insomnia is BACK. I read such an interesting article the other day in a Naturopathic Medicine Newsletter, that anxiety has been treated with Anti-inflammatory herbs, such as Turmeric, that made sooo much sense to me! I agree! This has not been proven, but I know as someone who has worked with my own own anxiety naturally, this is true ! It seems to me to be the equivalent of an auto-immune disease which can get triggered, and sometimes has a "mind of it's own". What I mean by that is that we have patterns in our nervous system that take over, they want to keep up safe, Our brain likes familiarity, that releases dopamine, the "feel good" neurotransmitter, even when something is not good for us. Or we are going along in life, thinking everything is fine, and one negative experience can "ruin" it all! The question is ? How to we find way to heal and regulate ourselves. I recommend so many tools, Neurosculpting, shaking, acupuncture, herbs, taking walks and more. These are just a few of my observations and opinions, I am not against medication, it can be the perfect, lovely way to support your body. Long term chronic stress, and anxiety are intense and hard on the body. How can we love ourselves and our bodies more? Answer below if you wish to. Please contact me if you have questions about treating your anxiety etc. Namaste, Stefanie Peace - What we are striving for.. www.dictionary.com/browse/peace #findingpeace #acupunctureforwellbeing #anxiety #depression #insomnia #stefanierothert This has always been a challenge for me. We assume that it should be easy to be happy, and for some people it really is ! What is different for those people? Well a lot of time, they seem to expect things to work out, and guess what? In one way or another they do? One of the biggest things that has helped me is using Neurosculpting ® techniques and gratitude. Upon waking, I let myself wiggle my toes and I think of what I am grateful for, like health! Health is HUGE. As an Acupuncturist, I am exposed to ill health and dis-ease. Even when I am ill, I make so many promises to myself to be happier. Last winter, I was sick twice! It was quite a doozy and felt like a roadblock (and a bit of a vacation). So, Gratitude and thinking of how your needs might be met in this very moment are fantastic ways to shift from grouchy to at least feeling safe. The first step in the five step Neurosculpting Meditation process is called the induction. Even if you practiced that for five minutes a day it could create a HUGE Shift! What is that? We basically "down-regulate" our fight or flight system, stress response. How do we do that? We think of ways that we are safe in the moment. When we don't feel safe, our survival mechanism turns on, the stress response. It has it's place, like if you are being chased by a bear! I invite you think of things that make you feel unsafe, it can be big or small, perhaps not enough money in the bank, or food, or a person in your life, too many spam emails and more. Now, I invite you to notice your body, how are you safe in this very moment. For me, I love socks, socks help me feel safe, I love knee high socks, I love boots, they feel supportive, it's a silly thing, but it helps me feel safe! Now Gratitude, it literally does help us to shift into the higher centers of our brain! 1. I am grateful to be alive. 2. I am grateful for a safe car. 3. I am grateful for my cup of coffee in the morning. 4. I am so grateful for my strong body. 5. I am so grateful that I am mostly healthy, for essential oils that help my asthma. What are your five?? Namaste, Stefanie Rothert #neurosculpting #cultivatinghappiness #meditation #mindfulliving It is astounding how in alternative medicine practices, these pathogens are commonly known about. We may contract viruses and they can live in our bodies, they can go dormant and get re-activated. Examples of this are Lyme disease and the Epstein- Bar Virus. These viruses can hide in our bodies and go dormant. Lyme diseases in particular creates a biofilm that is hard to penetrate so that it can not be killed off. https://www.cdc.gov/lyme/index.html Lyme is a bacteria that is most often contracted from a tick, people do get in Colorado also. It then often exists with co-infections. Lyme disease is very hard to treat and in my opinion is best treated with Western, Eastern and Naturopathic Medicine. The best I can do for people is to help them detox, and support their emotions and immune system since it becomes exhausting and frustrating process. In treatment, as the biofilm gets penetrated, you have to help the body rid itself of the bacteria. It can be an up and down process, and the treatment needs to change with the symptoms and patterns, there is no "blanket" treatment. Here is an interview with a famous Oriental Medicine Practitioner on how to treat Lyme fruehauf_lymeinterview-5.pdf The Epstein- Bar Virus: Also known as Mono. We may contract this at young age or in utero (also Lyme), This virus can go in-active and then stress, birth, diet or trauma may activate it. In my experience this is a very un-diagnosed illness, though many in the Western Medical World do know about it, there is not much they can do for it besides use anti-virals. There is lot we can do with Holistic Medicine. We can boost your immune system, also use herbs to help fight the infection, give emotional support, also diet modification is key as the virus lives on certain foods, so detoxing and working with the gut is key.
